Attendance

Parents, please remember to send a note when your child is absent from school.  The school will call the parents of an absent child by 9:00 each day they are absent but a note is also needed for the records.  Students can be absent 5 days with a parent note and then they must have a doctor’s statement.  This is Smith County School Board Policy

.Read Across America “Dr. Seuss Day”

NMS is celebrating Dr Seuss Day on Friday, March 5.  Parents and Grandparents are invited to read to their child’s class.  Please contact your child’s teacher to set a time if you plan to read to their class.  Also, Pre-K –Third Grade students may wear pajamas and bring their sleeping bags.  We hope to have a fun day Reading!

.P.E. Shoe Drive

The P.E. Department will be having a shoe drive for our gym closet.  We will be accepting children’s shoes sizes 1 and up and adult sizes up to 13.  If you have any used gym shoes in Good Condition and would like to donate them, it would be greatly appreciated.  Please send any donations to Mrs. Jasmine in the gym.  Thank you!

Book Fair

The Book Fair will be at NMS on Thursday, March 4 and end on March 12^th.    We are so excited about all the great books that will be available.  We will also have some adult best sellers. So parents and grandparents please feel free to come and shop with your child.

Spring Picture Day

Spring picture day will be Tuesday, March 16.  Everyone will have their picture taken.  A proof will be sent home with an order form so you can preview the pose before you purchase.  These will be fun and casual pictures.  Younger brothers & sisters are welcome.  Class group pictures must be purchased on picture day.  Price is $12 per picture.  Please make checks payable to Inter-State Studio, Inc.   

NMS Basketball Banquet

NMS boys & girl’s basketball teams and cheerleaders will have their banquet Friday, March 5 at 6:00 in the gym.  Trophies and awards will be given out at this time.  We hope parents of the players can be there to support these great kids.

PTO Meeting

There will be a PTO meeting on March 9, Tuesday at 6:00.  All parents welcome to attend.

If you are planning to eat lunch with your child at school, please let us know by 9:00 that morning in order for the cooks to prepare enough food. Please call 683-6086.

Smith Co. Schools

Smith Co. Schools will be in school on Friday, March 5^th.  Due to being out of school for snow, we will be attending school on March 5^th to make-up a snow day.
