Attendance

Parents, please remember to send a note when your child is absent from school.  The school will call the parents of an absent child by 9:00 each day they are absent but a note is also needed for the records.  Students can be absent 5 days with a parent note and then they must have a doctor’s statement.  This is Smith County School Board Policy

Students Arriving Late To School

Parents please stop by the office and sign your child in if arriving late to school.  This lets the office staff know if your child is present.  Also, any visitor needs to sign in the office before going to any classroom.  Thank you for your cooperation

TCAP Testing

Smith County students will be taking state achievement test the week of April 5^th - 9^th.  All students must be in school and on time on these dates.  Please don’t schedule appointments during this week.

Smith County After School Theatre Company

Smith County after School Theatre Company invites you to “Be Our Guest.”  Please come and join Belle and all her friends on Saturday, March 20^th from 10A.M. to Noon at the Smith county High School cafeteria.  The menu will include punch and cookies.  Smiles and cameras are requested to help celebrate and remember this special occasion.  The cost is $5.00 at the door.  All proceeds will benefit the Smith County Backpack Program. 

Kindergarten Registration

NMS kindergarten registration will be on Friday, April 23 from 8:00 until 1:00pm.  The State of Tennessee requires the following for all children who will enter kindergarten who are five years of age on or before September 30^th.

Immunization Record

Physical Examination

Child’s Social Security#

Please bring all this information when you register your child for kindergarten.  Also, all students who are presently attending kindergarten will stay home on April 23^rd.

Spring Break

Smith County Schools will be closed the week of April 12 – 16 for spring break.  Hope everyone has a wonderful vacation!!!!!!
