First Grade End of Year Program

Ms Emily’s and Mrs. Michelle’s first grade classes will present an end of year program.  First grade will be splashing into Summer Time. Come join us on May 16^th at 1:00pm.

Report Cards

Last report cards will be given out on May 23^rd (students dismissed at 10:00).  Report cards can be mailed if a stamped self addressed envelope is provided to your child’s teacher.

Grant Community Yard Sale

The Grant Community will have neighborhood yard sale this Friday, May 9^th and Saturday, May 10^th.  The yard sale will begin at 7:00am until ?.

Retirement Reception for Mrs. Ballard

Please join the faculty & staff of New Middleton School in honoring Mrs. Teresa Ballard on Sunday, May 18^th from 2 - 4 pm. We invite present and former students, the NMS community, family and friends to join her to celebrate her 34 years in education.

PTO Cookbooks

The PTO is selling cookbooks for $5 dollars each.  The cookbooks will make a wonderful graduation gift or Mother’s Day present.

County Wide Student Art Show

Smith County Schools will be having a student art show at the Smith County Community Bank in Carthage on May 6^th through May 10^th.  Parents will receive a note if their child has art work in the show.  Also an optional art field trip for 7^th and 8^th grades will be on May 17^th at the Frist Center for Visual Arts. Information & permission slips were sent home with the students from Mrs. Massey.

Lunch/Breakfast Accounts

We have 9 days left to serve lunch and breakfast.  Please check your child’s lunch and breakfast account to make sure they have enough to cover the remainder of the school year.  Any money left in their account will be carried over to next school year.  If you would like to have your child’s lunch money refunded, please send a written note by May 16^th.  All lunch money must be paid in full by May 21^st. 

Pre-K Registration

Registration for Pre-K for the 2008-2009 school year will be held on Tuesday & Wednesday May 20^th & 21^st from 8:00 to 2:00.  To be eligible for admission to Pre-K, you must be a resident of Smith County and your child must turn 4 years old between Oct. 1, 2007 and Sept. 30, 2008.  Children turning 5 before Oct.1, 2008 will not be eligible.  Each child must be present during registration in order to be given a Pre-K screening test to check for readiness.  All children registering for Pre-K must bring a certified birth certificate, a physical examination record within the last 12 months, immunization record, the child’s social security card, proof of residency and proof of income   if you have any other question please call 683-8411.

 Menu can change if we miss school because of bad weather.

Monday – May 12 Breakfast- Breakfast bar  or Cereal, Milk, Juice Lunch  - fried chicken, gravy, creamed potatoes, green peas, fruit, biscuit, fruit, milk

Tuesday – May - 13 Breakfast  - Pizza or Cereal, Juice, Milk             Lunch – Cheeseburger, French fries, pork and beans, fruit, Milk

Wednesday – May 14 Breakfast – Gravy & Biscuit or Cereal, Juice, Milk Lunch – Ham, Macaroni & cheese, green beans, baked apples, biscuits, Milk

Thursday – May 15 Breakfast  -  Bacon & biscuit or cereal Lunch – turkey roast and gravy, creamed potatoes, pinto beans, cornbread, fruit, milk

Friday – May 16 Breakfast  - PopTart or cereal, milk, juice Lunch – Corn dog, tater tots, baked beans, fruit, cookie, milk

If you are planning to eat lunch with your child at school, please let us know by 9:00 that morning in order for the cooks to prepare enough food. Please call 683-6086.
